BakerHicks, the multi-disciplinary design, engineering and project delivery company, has reorganised its senior management team in the D-A-CH region, promoting Johannes Flothmann to Head of Life Sciences for Basel and Stève Piaget to the newly-created role of Head of Life Sciences for Switzerland.

The appointments follow the recent rebranding of the company’s European Life Sciences division, which joined forces with the UK operation under the name BakerHicks. This is part of a new strategy to deliver an integrated service to UK and European Life Sciences clients, with a particular strengthening of their technical leadership, project management capabilities and the ability to deliver all size of capex projects.

In his new role, Johannes Flothmann, will lead the company’s specific focus on the Basel area, working closely with Manuel Bernsau, who heads up the Managed Services arm of the company. Johannes will play a key role in nurturing existing client relationships as well as developing new business opportunities throughout the region. As a single point of contact and client advocate, Johannes will also be focusing on the full delivery of projects and services, matching clients’ changing needs with the technical expertise of the company’s teams.

Johannes joined BakerHicks, previously known as Morgan Sindall Professional Services (MSPS) AG, 10 years ago having previously worked for Ciba. He holds a Master of Science in Bioprocess engineering and an Engineering Diploma in Biotechnology.

Joining Johannes in this new strategy is Stève Piaget, who has been promoted to his new role after almost three years as Head of Business Operations for the company’s Zurich office. He will be responsible for growing and supporting the company’s existing client base whilst working with the technical teams in Switzerland, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality projects and services.

Stève joined BakerHicks in 2013 as a Project Manager. He is a trained Chemist and Chemical Engineer with more than 15 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry.

Stève says their immediate priorities include raising the profile of BakerHicks in the region, highlighting the company’s extensive capabilities as an industry leader: “BakerHicks is the largest and most complete design, engineering and project delivery company in the region. We have the engineering and design capability, we know the regulatory requirements, we have the local supply chain, speak the local language and share the Swiss culture. We are also fully pan-European and have a long history of working with major international pharmaceutical companies. This combination of local expertise and knowledge, with international operations and experience is an advantage in the execution of today’s pharma investment projects. I’m very proud to be taking on this new role in what are exciting times for the business with the chance to really build upon this.”

Johannes adds: “Investments in research and production facilities are crucial to the success story of the Life Sciences industry in Switzerland. This is what our teams are known for; delivering innovative yet functional and flexible facilities so our clients can deliver leading edge therapies using the latest technologies. This is an incredible opportunity to strengthen our relationships with those that know us best, and to grow them with potential customers that need quality and innovation in the project delivery process.”
